Scarring

Scarring

Wound healing is a complex process involving an interplay between haemostasis inflammation proliferation and repair, aimed at restoring the skin to its original structure and function following insult. The final result may be a scar with an unacceptable appearance to the patient. The scar may be atrophic, hypertrophic or keloidal and may be hyperpigmented or hypopigmented. Here at Main Street Skin Clinic, we offer the full complement of treatment options including topical therapy, cryotherapy, electrosurgery, intralesional steroid therapy as well as ablative laser therapy, short pulse width laser for pigmentation and excision. There are no guarantees and a full preprocedural assessment is required to determine whether the services offered are suitable and meet expectations.
